On 7th of May, 2026, we had the PostgreSQL May Meetup in Berlin. AWS hosted it again, this time we had two speakers from UK and US.

On 5th of March, 2026, we had the PostgreSQL March Meetup in Berlin. Zalando hosted it again, and like last time it was four regular talks in two parallel tracks. The Meetup took place in the Hedwig-Wachenheim-Straße in Berlin, right around the corner from the Uber Arena and East Side Gallery. The event was co-sponsored by Zalando (venue, drinks) and AWS (pizza, snacks).

The Open Source Analytics Community is organizing Open Lakehouse and AI Meetups, this time in Berlin. I had the honor to present about WarehousePG.

On November 13th, 2025, we had the PostgreSQL November Meetup in Berlin. Redgate Software hosted us again, this time in a larger meeting room at The Social Hub Berlin.

On February 4th, 2025, we had the PostgreSQL February Meetup in Berlin. This time Zalando hosted it again, and we did something big: two tracks, two lightning talks and four regular talks. Oh, and about 130 attendees. That is already a mini conference!

Seit rund einem Jahrzehnt haben wir einen Englisch Stammtisch im Norden Berlins. Im November haben wir uns an einem Samstag getroffen und sind in den Spreewald gefahren.

On October 9th, 2024, we had the PostgreSQL October Meetup in Berlin. Amazon hosted it. Josef Machytka spoke about JSON, Aychin Gasimov spoke about new features in PostgreSQL 17.

Letzten Samstag war schönes Wetter angesagt und mir fehlte noch ein Ausflugsziel. Von der Friedensstatue in Moabit als Symbol gegen sexualisierte Gewalt gegen Mädchen und Frauen hatte ich schon einige Male gehört, also stellte ich mir einen Ausflug dorthin zusammen. Natürlich 'mit Umwegen', wer fährt schon gerne direkt zum Ausflugsziel und gleich wieder zurück. Und ein Eis sollte auch dabei sein.

Letzten Samstag war Hafenfest in Birkenwerder. Zuerst wusste ich nicht ob ich wirklich hin fahren will, oder mir lieber ein anderes Ziel suche. Es war nicht viel über die Veranstaltung - oder den Hafen - online zu finden. Letztendlich habe ich mir eine Route herausgesucht bei der ich noch ein paar andere Stationen anfahre, sowie unterwegs ein Eis essen kann.

Für den 14. September rief das Netzwerk Fahrradfreundliches Reinickendorf zu einer Fahrraddemo für mehr Radwege und sichere Radinfrastruktur auf. Stationen waren der Zeltinger Platz, Edelhofdamm, die Leipziger Straße in Glienicke/N., der Waldseeweg und der S-Bahnhof Hermsdorf.
